Casual Handyman
We are seeking an experienced Handyman to join our dedicated repairs and maintenance team based at our Brooklyn depot in Melbourne. This is a casual role offering full-time hours, working primarily across various sites in central Melbourne.
Our team services the public transport sector, undertaking a wide range of small to medium-sized maintenance tasks in both scheduled and on-call capacities.
The standard workdays are Monday to Friday, with the potential for additional shifts as needed, including the occasional night shift.
Negotiable salary + super ($30-$36)

Your role
We’re seeking a skilled Handyman to assist with maintenance work on our ongoing work for Yarra Trams. This role involves outdoor, road-based tasks where strict safety and attention to detail are essential. To be considered, you should have prior experience as a handyman and possess most of the following skills:
Experience using jackhammers, grinders, drills, and other handheld power tools safely and effectively.
Door & Hardware Installation
Ability to install and repair doors, including fitting locks, hinges, handles, and other hardware.
Basic Carpentry
General timber work, including small repairs
Concreting
Basic concreting skills such as mixing, pouring, and finishing small areas or doing patch repairs.
Welding & Metal Forming (advantageous)
Experience with light welding and shaping metal components is a bonus.
Fencing Installation
Capable of installing or repairing basic fencing and posts as required on job sites.
Painting
Basic painting and surface touch-ups using brushes or rollers.
Night Work
Willingness and ability to work occasional night shifts (non-negotiable)
Ensuring adherence to local job site safety rules and regulations
Current Driver’s License (essential) and White card (preferred)
Professional, clean and tidy
Excellent communication written and spoken skills
Good time management skills
Works well autonomously
Able to work unrestricted in Australia
Can do attitude and ability to solve problems which arise in day to day jobs

Pay: $30.00 – $36.00 per hour
