About the Role
Swinburne University of Technology is seeking a passionate and experienced VET Teacher to deliver high-quality, industry-aligned training in areas such as Cyber Security and Cloud Technologies. This is an exciting opportunity to inspire students and help them become job-ready in a fast-changing digital world.

In this role, you’ll plan, deliver, assess, and evaluate training programs across certificate to associate degree levels. You’ll bring real-world industry knowledge into the classroom, using contemporary technologies and teaching methods to engage a diverse group of learners. Collaborating with a team of dedicated educators, you'll also help ensure program quality, compliance, and ongoing improvement.

We’re looking for educators with current industry experience and knowledge of tools like Wireshark, Kali Linux, SIEM platforms, and scripting in Python. Relevant certifications (e.g. Security+, CISSP, AWS/Azure) are highly regarded, along with strong communication skills and a commitment to continuous professional growth.

We’re looking for someone with experience in the below key accountabilities:

  • Proven experience delivering innovative and engaging teaching across varied learning modes.
  • A commitment to inclusive and customised learning environments, with a focus on student success and support.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop quality teaching and assessment materials and contribute to continuous improvement.
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills, with the ability to build productive relationships with colleagues and stakeholders.
  • A proactive approach to professional development and a drive to remain current as a 21st-century VET practitioner.

Qualifications
  • Certificate IV in Training and Assessment TAE40122
  • Certificate IV in Training and Assessment TAE40116
  • Tertiary qualification in Information Technology or Cyber Security or Cloud Technologies
  • Vocational experience Cyber Security and experience in using:
    • Tools such as Wireshark, Kali Linux, virtual labs, and SIEM platforms in teaching practice.
    • Certifications (e.g. CompTIA Security+, CISSP, AWS/Azure Security).
    • Scripting language Python.
