We are excited to offer a Category Insights Analyst role.
This role reports to a Category Insights Manager and will support in the development and delivery of a best-in-class reporting suite and insights framework. This role will drive Category and Channel Strategy and enable data-driven decision making across Sales, Marketing, and broader business functions.
You are expected to work from one of our Sydney based offices at least 3 days per week. The offices are located are in Warriewood (preferred) and Surry Hills.
What will you do?
- Partner with the Category Insights Manager to deliver accurate, timely market performance reporting aligned to key business objectives.
- Maintain and improve the Category Power BI reporting suite, addressing data issues in collaboration with IT and external data vendors.
- Gather stakeholder feedback and usage insights to evolve reporting tools and increase value delivery across teams.
- Monitor IQVIA Power BI and Excel Connector usage; manage and reallocate licenses appropriately.
- Support quarterly category and segment projections and assist in the development and maintenance of the annual category budget.
- Analyse syndicated, internal, and loyalty data to assess category and brand performance.
- Provide analytical support for ad hoc deep dives across Grocery and Pharmacy channels.
- Assist in Range Reviews and Customer Planning processes.
- Evaluate new product performance and identify implications for future innovation.
- Support Integrated Commercial Planning (ICP), Category, and Campaign Insight processes.
- Present findings to internal stakeholders to influence decision making and strategy.
- Conduct eCommerce analytics to identify trends and opportunities.
- Review quarterly promotional trends and distil implications for brand and channel strategies
- Collaborate with Customer Data and Brand Experience teams to interpret and deliver POS insights that drive customer engagement and sales optimization. Conduct deep-dive analyses to address specific business questions or performance challenges.

Who are you?
- Bachelor’s degree in marketing, commerce, or a related discipline.
- Previous commercial work experience in a category or sales analyst role, product management, or assistant category buyer - preferably in FMCG, retail, data agency, or pharmaceutical sectors.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Power BI and Excel.
- Strong analytical skills across scan data, ex-factory sales, shopper, and retailer loyalty data.
- Curious mindset with the ability to learn new systems and tools quickly. Proven ability to translate complex data into actionable insights and communicate findings clearly.
