About the Role
As the Child and Family Case Manager, you will play a pivotal role in supporting children, young people, and parents through effective case management and parenting support. You will advocate for their rights and well-being across emotional, physical, social, educational, developmental, and cultural needs, ensuring their voices guide our services and programs.
This position offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact through community engagement, collaboration, and the development of positive, empowering relationships with families and service providers.
This is a Max term (Until June 2026) part time (22.8 hours a week) position based in Southern Tasmania. Salary is in accordance with SCHADS Level 5.
How you will make an impact
- Provide high-quality, developmentally appropriate case management to children and young people, particularly those affected by family violence.
- Deliver strengths-based parenting support focused on fostering healthy parent-child relationships.
- Work collaboratively with schools, local agencies, and community stakeholders to identify service gaps and implement child-focused community initiatives.
- Assess the impact of violence on children and young people, and support their recovery through tailored, therapeutic interventions.
- Advocate for child and family needs in line with trauma-informed practice principles and the values of the Family Violence Stream.
What you will bring
- Degree qualification in Social Work, Early Childhood, Counselling, Welfare, Community Development, or a related field.
- Demonstrated experience working with children and families affected by family and domestic violence.
- Experience delivering trauma-informed, culturally responsive support services.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to engage with Aboriginal, Torres Strait Islander and/or Culturally and Linguistically Diverse communities.
- High-level organisational and time-management skills, with the ability to work independently.
- Proficiency in record-keeping and Microsoft Office.
- Valid Working with Children Check, National Police Check, and a current ‘C’ Class Driver’s License (TAS)
