Join a team that's All Kinds of Useful

At Origin, being useful is more than a tagline - it’s how we approach work every day. As a collective, we’re a team that thrives on finding better ways, working together, and owning our impact. From powering homes to delivering award-winning internet and helping to lead Australia’s energy transition. If you’re driven by purpose and excited to be part of something bigger, we’d love to have you on the journey.

About the role

Join Kinergy – Origin’s global load flexibility SaaS business – as we expand into key markets across Australia, New Zealand, North America, and Europe. You’ll help shape a customer-centric operations function that scales globally, adapts locally, and supports a cleaner, smarter energy future.

We're building something bold – and we need someone ready to step into a high-impact role. As the Client Operations Lead, you’ll be the go-to person ensuring seamless post-implementation service delivery to our clients. That means everything from establishing client support channels and managing 3rd-party service providers to troubleshooting incidents and overseeing operational performance. You’ll be central to scaling Kinergy globally and ensuring clients are supported with excellence. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Operational Delivery – Ensure post-go-live support for Kinergy clients exceeds expectations, managing client queries and service SLAs.

  • Process & Workflow Leadership – Design and manage scalable operational processes, both internally and through outsourced providers.

  • Client Engagement – Be the frontline for client relationships, especially with our New Zealand customers, leading performance reviews and issue resolution.

  • Deployment Support – Step in during go-lives to manage workload spikes, test handovers, and onboarding.

  • Global Collaboration – Work closely with engineering teams, service partners, and third parties to ensure seamless cross-time-zone support.

What will you bring?

You will be curious, tech-savvy (without needing to code), and operationally sharp. You bring a mix of process thinking, client service mindset, and adaptability to handle the evolving nature of our business. Most of all, you’re excited by the opportunity to help shape a high-growth, purpose-driven company with global reach. You’ll likely have:

  • 5+ years in energy retail, network, wholesale, or a SaaS business

  • Strong operations and documentation skills in tech-enabled environments

  • Confidence working in fast-paced, ambiguous settings (ideally with exposure to scale-ups or new market launches)

  • Experience with or understanding of Virtual Power Plants (VPP) or energy load flexibility (a plus!)

  • A proactive, self-starting attitude – you're comfortable switching between strategic and hands-on work

  • A knack for building relationships, resolving issues, and being highly responsive to client needs

  • Flexibility in your work hours to support international markets like New Zealand!

So why join us?

  • 20 weeks of paid leave for primary carers with flexible return options.

  • Thrive in a culture of personal and professional growth.

  • Enjoy a central CBD location with access to parking and public transport.

  • Purchase up to four additional weeks of leave annually.

  • Engage in opportunities through the Origin Foundation to support your community.

  • Powering your career with unbeatable perks - Get discounted electricity, gas, and internet as an Origin employee.

  • Explore unique and cost-effective employee EV Car subscriptions.
