CNC Lathe Operator – DMG MORI NLX & NTX Machines

We are a well-established precision machining company based in Brisbane North Side, QLD operating for over 20 years. We supply high-quality components to industries including mining, hydraulics, medical, aviation and manufacturing. Known for our accuracy and fast turnaround, we operate a modern workshop equipped with advanced CNC technology — including DMG MORI, HAAS and other machines. As our business grows, we’re looking for a skilled CNC Lathe Operator to join our team.
About the Role:
This role will see you programming, setting up, and operating our DMG MORI CNC lathes to produce precision components from steel, aluminium, and other advanced materials. You'll be part of a small, hands-on team that takes pride in doing things right the first time — with quality, consistency, and reliability.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate and set up DMG MORI NLX/NTX CNC lathes
- Read and interpret engineering drawings and technical documentation
- Monitor machine performance and ensure accurate dimensions and surface finishes
- Perform tool changes, offsets, and basic G-code edits when needed
- Conduct quality checks using precision measuring instruments (verniers, micrometres, Surface roughness measuring,)
- Assist with machine maintenance and troubleshoot basic issues
- Collaborate with our production team to meet job deadlines
What We’re Looking For:
- Minimum 3–5 years’ experience operating CNC lathes, ideally DMG MORI NLX/NTX series
- Sound understanding of CNC machining practices and Fanuc controls
- Strong ability to read and interpret detailed engineering drawings
- Excellent attention to detail and quality workmanship
- Ability to work independently and efficiently across multiple jobs
- Australian-recognised trade certificate
Nice to Have (Not Essential):
- Live tooling or multi-axis machining experience
- Experience machining parts for mining, hydraulic, or medical applications
