About The Role
As the Contracts and Procurement Manager, you will be at the forefront of leading the Procurement and Contracts Team. Your role will involve developing and implementing a comprehensive framework that aligns with the Council's procurement and contracting objectives. You will engage with both internal and external stakeholders to ensure that procurement activities are efficient, effective, and provide maximum value for money.
Your leadership will be crucial in building capacity within the Council, monitoring supplier performance, and ensuring compliance with contract specifications. You will also be responsible for fostering a culture of continuous improvement and ethical practises within the procurement function.
Who We're Looking For
We are looking for a skilled professional who possesses a strong background in procurement and contract management. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a blend of analytical, planning, and leadership skills, along with the ability to communicate effectively across various levels of the organisation.
- Degree qualification in procurement, contract law, or a related discipline from a recognised institution.
- Extensive experience in procurement, tendering, and contract management.
- Proven track record in managing teams and developing talent.
- Experience in providing strategic procurement advice that delivers value for money.
The successful candidate will also have strong negotiation skills, experience in local government procurement, and familiarity with relevant software, such as Technology One or Vendor Panel.
