Job Description
Your Opportunity
We’re looking for a Data Architect to join our Data Governance and Data Platform team on a 6-month Maximum Term Contract.
In this role, you’ll leverage your technical skills to develop, maintain, and support innovative solutions that solve real-world challenges in the payments industry. From designing and building scalable systems to ensuring seamless integration with key technologies, your work will directly impact millions of users.
You’ll also make an impact by:
- Setting the strategic direction for data architecture and integration to enable the delivery of Cuscal’s Technology and Platform Strategy.
- Ensuring data assets are structured, governed, and integrated to support enterprise-wide scalability, compliance, and operational efficiency.
- Leverage its investments in market-leading technologies (Confluent, Databricks) as a true data-platform enabled for federated internal consumption with appropriate features, governance, guardrails and monitoring to enable Cuscal’s shift to a digital and data-driven organisation.
- Data Architecture Strategy, Data Modelling, Data Integration and Engineering, Reference Data Management, Master Data and Metadata Management, and Environment Management.
Qualifications
What you’ll bring
To succeed in this role, you’ll have:
- 8+ years of experience in enterprise data architecture, including the design and implementation of scalable, secure, and governed data solutions across hybrid environments (e.g. on-prem, cloud).
- Regulatory and Scheme Compliance Expertise
Understanding of key regulatory frameworks and scheme requirements relevant to the payments industry, including:
PCI DSS – Ensuring secure handling, storage, and transmission of cardholder data across data platforms and integration pipelines.
APRA CPS 234 – Designing data environments and controls that meet information security obligations for regulated entities.
APRA CPG 235 – Applying risk management principles to data governance, metadata, and lineage practices.
Scheme-specific requirements – Supporting compliance with data-related obligations from card schemes and payment networks.
Demonstrate sound understanding of Enterprise Architecture Principles:
TOGAF or similar frameworks
Business capability modelling
Architecture governance and standards
