  • $88,557.94 per annum plus 12% superannuation

About us
We’re on a mission to create a brighter future, where you can be a change maker at the actual source. We’re one of Australia’s largest water utilities with over 30% of Victoria’s population relying on us for their essential water and sanitation services.

Our award-winning culture fosters an inclusive, collaborative, and flexible environment that enables our people to thrive. Here, you’ll be inspired and challenged to grow alongside us.

We're committed to reconciliation and supporting the self-determined role for Traditional Owners/Custodians in water and land management.

The Role
Our Debt Collection Specialists play a vital role within the Billing & Collection Division through working with our customers to recover high risk outstanding accounts. You will have the autonomy to assess the risks and implement the appropriate recovery actions, case managing the customers' accounts to completion.

Your key responsibilities
The work will involve taking both inbound and outbound calls, always providing a high level of customer service, which will also involve negotiating tailored outcomes to specific customer needs. You will also have the opportunity to identify process improvements

What we’re looking for
The successful candidate will enjoy the challenge of taking ownership of all customer issues from the first point of contact and will also be able to demonstrate:

  • Solid experience with a range of debt collection activities.
  • Relevant debt collection legislation and regulation knowledge.
  • Demonstrated interpersonal and negotiation skills, particularly when working with customers, and the ability to actively listen to our customers.
  • Demonstrated experience in managing all documents, policies and procedures, standards and specifications.
  • Experience in developing strategies, thinking outside the square, and efficiency improvements
