About the Role
The Digital DevOps Manager is a senior role reporting into the Head of Digital Technology. The role will be responsible for driving operational excellence by implementing strategies for continuous delivery and integration. The Digital DevOps Manager will build and maintain systems and processes that will monitor all aspects relating to the health of digital products (experiences, platforms, systems. etc.). The role will also establish best practice tools and processes to effectively manage major and minor incidents impacting digital products.

Duties
It’s an exciting time at icare where no two days are the same; as a Digital DevOps Manager you will:
- Lead and manage a team of dev ops engineers, incident manager and contingent workforce
- Lead formation of a digital devops strategy aimed at establishing best in class dev ops infrastructure, processes and skills at icare.
- Drive operational excellence by implementing strategies for continuous delivery and integration.
- Build strong relationships with the development teams to understand the code, its dependencies and the infrastructure.
- Build and maintain systems that will monitor all aspects of the application and the infrastructure.
- Work with the wider team with the deployment of strategy and capacity planning across development, quality assurance, staging and production environments.
- Work with the development team to deploy and manage tools that support SDLC automation, configuration management and release management.
- Encourage shared vision while building and maintaining strong cross-functional relationships/ alignment with partners across the business.
- Identify manual processes and inefficiencies to drive improvement through automation.
- Provide training and support to software engineering team.
- Establish best practices to manage incidents (major and minor) impacting digital products (including experiences, platforms, systems and integrations)
- Support Digital Incident Management Lead to enhance processes and capabilities required to operate a fit for purpose incident management process for digital including during and post incident activities.
Skills & Experience
- 8+ years’ experience in a similar role.
- Cloud Computing: Deep understanding of major cloud platforms like AWS. This involves knowledge of services for computing, storage, networking, and security.
- Automation and Scripting: Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python, Bash, or PowerShell to automate repetitive tasks and manage infrastructure as code.
- Security (DevSecOps): A strong focus on integrating security practices throughout the entire software development lifecycle (SDLC), ensuring that security is a shared responsibility.
- Containerisation and Orchestration: Expertise in using Docker for containerising applications and Kubernetes for managing and scaling containerized workloads.
- CI/CD (Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery): Hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines using tools like Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD, or GitHub Actions to automate the build, test, and deployment processes.
- Monitoring and Logging: Knowledge of monitoring tools like Dynatrace or and logging platforms such as Splunk to ensure system health and performance.
