Position: Disability Support Worker

About the Role
As a Disability Support Worker, you'll provide essential day-to-day support in the community. Your key responsibilities include:
- Empowering clients to achieve their personal goals through meaningful and professional relationships
- Providing personal care – including showering, grooming, toileting, and general hygiene with dignity and sensitivity
- Assisting with medication and health needs – including epilepsy management and following health care plans
- Supporting meal-time needs – following individual meal management plans
- Working as part of a small, supportive team to deliver the best outcomes for clients
- Communicating effectively with your team and management to ensure high-quality care and a positive work culture
Requirements
Experience required with:
- Supporting non-verbal individuals
- Assisting wheelchair users, including manual handling and folding/lifting wheelchairs into vehicles
- Personal care and low-to-medium level challenging behaviours
- Positive Behaviour Support (preferred)
- Availability for weekday shifts, with the potential for Saturday shifts for the right candidate
- Shift locations range from Aura to Kunda Park
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work calmly in varied environments

What You’ll Need Before Starting
- Current First Aid & CPR Certificate
- Blue Card (Working With Children)
- NDIS Worker Screening Check
- Industry experience
- Certificate III or higher in a relevant field (preferred)

Pay: $35.00 – $45.00 per hour
