Events Coordinator
Job purpose:
Join the team at Optus Stadium as an Events Coordinator, where you'll play a key role in delivering world-class experiences across a dynamic calendar of sporting and entertainment events. You'll support the safe and efficient operation of the venue, coordinate and plan event logistics, and work closely with hirers and operational partners to ensure every detail is executed to perfection. With a strong focus on fan-first service, you'll help bring AFL, cricket, rugby, football, concerts, and more to life, making every event unforgettable!
In this role you will:
- Support the safe, efficient and effective operation of the venue, across all functions on event and non-event days. These events may include AFL games, International Cricket, BBL, NRL, Rugby Australia, Football and other international sporting fixtures, and concerts.
- Assist with the planning and delivery of activities across the venue, ensuring operational excellence and attention to detail.
- Liaise with event hirers and operational partners to support the successful planning and execution of major events, as directed
- Coordinate parking logistics and accreditation processes for event days, ensuring streamlined access and security.
- Coordinate the collection of post event information including debrief summaries and statistics.
- Ensure that all patrons receive an outstanding fans-first experience and assist with managing the customer feedback process.
- Liaise with hirers to consolidate media and broadcast requirements, ensuring media teams are well-supported and operations run smoothly on event days.
- Maintain a client-first mindset in managing relationships between the Stadium and its Hirers and Operational Partners.
To be successful, you will have:
- Full and unrestricted working rights in Australia.
- Exceptional communication skills - verbal, written, interpersonal and numerical.
- Professional and ethical conduct, with a high regard for respecting confidentiality
- Sharp problem-solving and analytical thinking, with a knack for staying calm.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, under pressure and to tight deadlines.
- A proactive attitude, work ethic, and genuine drive to excel in a dynamic team.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, with the tech-savviness to learn new systems.
- 3 years’ experience in a similar venue / event coordination role.
- Qualification in Events or Venue Management (desirable).
- Competency in Momentus / UBS (desirable).
- Physical stamina and readiness to work outdoors in varying weather conditions, with sustained movement required throughout event delivery.
While the standard working hours are 8:30am to 5:00pm, the nature of the event industry means you will be required to work outside these hours, especially during events held at Optus Stadium and Stadium Park.
