The Role
As a Mental Health Support Worker, you will provide direct, person-centered support to clients living with mental health conditions. You’ll be part of a team that helps individuals achieve greater independence, develop coping strategies, and improve their overall quality of life. This role is for someone who gives 110% . Someone who goes the extra mile, builds genuine relationships, and brings integrity, energy, and heart to their work every single day.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality, individualized mental health support in the community or clients' homes.
- Assist clients with daily living activities, goal setting, social inclusion, and emotional regulation.
- Work closely with clinical professionals, family members, and other services to ensure a holistic care approach.
- Accurately document progress, incidents, and care plans in line with organizational procedures.
- Travel to various locations as required, supporting clients across Melbourne.
- Be a consistent, reliable presence in clients’ lives, offering stability and trust.
- Respond calmly and professionally to challenging behaviors or crisis situations.
What We’re Looking For
- Minimum 2 years experience in a similar role supporting individuals with mental health needs.
- A genuine passion for helping others and a “whatever it takes” mindset.
- Strong work ethic, punctual, accountable, and dependable.
- Willingness and ability to travel regularly to support clients in different locations
- Exceptional communication and active listening skills.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
- Knowledge of trauma-informed care, de-escalation strategies, and safeguarding procedures.
- Relevant qualification in mental health, social care, or psychology (desirable but not essential)
- Full VIC driver's license and access to a vehicle (preferred)
