The Team
The AEC’s Property portfolio contains a large and diverse footprint to support a nationally dispersed network and agile workforce, and where the portfolio expands and contracts to meet our operational needs for both long and short-term basis.
The Property Management and Facilities section within the Legal Services Branch is responsible for managing agency wide facility management, including ensuring that all property maintenance and facilities issues are rectified in line with contractual arrangements and agency requirements.
The Opportunity
The Facilities Support Officer assists in managing the Property dedicated mailbox and is the point of contact for all AEC’s Nationally based properties. You will assist with the management of contracts for a variety of property management services, including but not limited to building, recycling, cleaning and emergency services.
In this role you will be required to escort approved contractors who attend Canberra based sites in line with AEC Security requirements and policy. You will ensure that all invoices are processed in a timely manner and that all records management is undertaken in line with legislative requirements.
You will contribute to discrete and ad-hoc initiatives relating to property management as required, such as repairs and maintenance, accommodation upgrades and fit-outs. You will assist with research and analysis to provide conclusions on issues and assist in the management, preparation and coordination of policy or procedure formulation and/or project management.
In this role you will develop and maintain key internal and external relationships, including liaising with stakeholders on policy, project or operational issues and responding to stakeholder needs and expectations. Provide accurate advice, guidance and reporting on team functional responsibilities, while communicating and making decisions using judgement, expertise and knowledge, governed by legislation, regulations, best practice principles or relevant operating instructions and procedures.
You will contribute to doctrine, election preparation and delivery activities in accordance with the election readiness framework, according to individual accountabilities and responsibilities. Perform additional duties or assume responsibility of functions as directed by the Management from time to time.
National Office is based in Canberra, and this is an in office role.

- Experience in facilities management or project management, or ability to obtain experience.
- Proven ability to learn independently and apply learning within government legislation and policy.
