Senior Designer Apparel
Are you a passionate and detail-oriented designer ready to lead the creative process from concept to completion? MAAP is seeking an experienced Senior Apparel Designer to join our global head office in Melbourne and help us create world-class on and off-bike cycling apparel.
In this role, you'll be the driving force behind the design of your allocated styles. You'll work closely with our leadership and design team, taking ownership of each garment from the initial brief all the way through to final production. This is an opportunity to bring your creative vision to life.
THE ROLE
● Own the Design Process: Manage all aspects of design for your allocated styles, ensuring they align with creative direction, market trends, and business objectives.
● Innovate and Create: Take design briefs and turn them into compelling, high-quality concepts. This includes sourcing fabrics, trims, and finishes that align with our seasonal toolkit.
● Collaborate and Communicate: Work with our Senior Garment Technicians to ensure designs are commercially viable and participate in fittings and sample reviews to maintain design integrity.
● Mentor and Lead: Oversee and mentor a Junior Designer, providing guidance on color palettes and the final application of color across our apparel ranges.
● Manage End-to-End Execution: From creating tech packs and sketches to managing design changes, you'll ensure a smooth and accurate handover to the production team.
THE CANDIDATE
We are seeking a proactive and skilled designer with a deep understanding of the apparel lifecycle. You should be someone who can:
● Demonstrate strong ideation and concepting skills.
● Expertly use sketching and CAD software.
● Manage multiple projects and deadlines effectively.
● Collaborate seamlessly with cross-functional teams, including product managers, graphic designers, and garment technicians.
● Lead with a positive and contributive attitude, enhancing our team culture.
If you are a visionary designer ready for your next challenge and passionate about high-performance apparel, help us design the future of cycling apparel.
