The Kilcunda Ocean View Hotel is seeking a full-time Duty Manager to join our team in this hands-on leadership role, based in the picturesque town of Kilcunda, Victoria.
The Duty Manager will work directly with the owners to help manage the day-to-day operations of the venue and guide the business forward.
Experience in a similar management role within the hospitality industry is preferred.
Rosters include a mix of days & nights, including weekends and public holidays, as required.
About the role
The successful candidate will be responsible for, but not limited to:
Overseeing daily venue operations, including opening and closing.
- Supervising a tight-knit team of hospitality staff, providing leadership, training and support.
- Managing financial responsibilities including daily reconciliation, inventory control and cash handling.
- Undertaking staff rostering and other ad-hoc administrative duties.
- Implementing marketing and promotional strategies to attract new customers and retain existing ones.
- Ensuring compliance with company policies and government regulations.
- Identifying and actioning opportunities for business growth and improvement.
- Maintaining high standards of customer service and providing a friendly and welcoming environment.
Skills and experience
The successful candidate will have the following:
- Proficiency in hotel operations and food & beverage management.
- Strong leadership and people management skills, with the ability to motivate and develop a team and lead by example.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with a focus on customer service and the ability to provide a positive guest experience.
- Sound financial management skills.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making capabilities.
- Passion for hospitality, including developing and maintaining relationships with customers and clientele.
- Be flexible and adaptable, with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Be self-motivated, trustworthy, responsible & reliable.
- Hold current RSA.
- POS experience.
