The Duporth Tavern is seeking highly motivated individual to join their Functions & Events team. In this hands on position for a person whom loves executing functions and events, you will lead the planning, coordination and delivery of a diverse range of events and functions, ensuring exceptional customer service and maximising revenue opportunities. The Duporth Tavern operates Monday to Sunday with the key days being Thursday – Sunday.
What you'll be doing
- Manage all aspects of the function and events operations, including booking, scheduling, staffing with GM and catering to kitchen (have Exc Chef and Function Chefs)
- Liaise with clients to understand their needs and preferences, and provide creative event solutions
- Prepare event proposals, event plans
- Coordinate and oversee event set-up, execution and post-event activities
- Manage the events team, providing leadership, training and performance management
- Develop and implement marketing strategies to promote the Tavern's function and events capabilities (working with marketing team)
- Monitor industry trends, and identify opportunities to enhance the Tavern's events offering
What we're looking for:
- Extensive ability to want to learn or have skills, in a similar function and events management role, preferably within the hospitality or tourism industry
- Proven track record of successfully planning and delivering a wide range of corporate, social and community events
- Strong commercial acumen, with the ability to maximise revenue and manage budgets effectively
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with clients, suppliers and the events team
- Outstanding organisational and multitasking skills, with the ability to work well under pressure and meet tight deadlines
- Proficient in using event management software such as Function Tracker and other relevant technologies
- Knowledge of the local event industry and regulatory environment
