About the Role:
As a Functions & Events Executive, you’ll take the lead in planning, coordinating, and delivering exceptional events across our diverse portfolio of venues, including:
· Pier 33 Mooloolaba
· Duporth Tavern
· Commercial Hotel Nambour
· SportsHub
· 4 Pines Mooloolaba
· Stock Exchange Hotel
· Hervey Bay Hotel and Resort
From seafood festivals, DJ events, and wedding expos to major community occasions like ANZAC Day, footy finals, and long lunches, no two days will ever be the same.
You’ll thrive working in a small, collaborative team environment, taking full ownership of event planning and execution—including managing budgets, forecasts, and P&L. You’ll work closely with suppliers, internal teams, and stakeholders to create seamless, memorable events that deliver real results.
This role is hands-on and will require flexibility to work nights and weekends.
Key Responsibilities:
· Plan, coordinate, and execute high-end events with precision.
· Handle incoming event leads across multiple channels in a professional and timely manner.
· Prepare detailed event proposals covering venue, function, menu, and accommodation costs—always maximising revenue.
· Collaborate with suppliers, vendors, and stakeholders to deliver seamless events.
· Manage event budgets, timelines, and logistics, ensuring nothing is missed.
· Contribute to sales forecasts and provide suggestions to help achieve targets.
· Stay ahead of trends, bringing creativity and innovation to our event offerings.
· Support marketing efforts to promote events and drive awareness.
About You:
· Proven experience in event planning within the hospitality industry.
· Exceptional organisational and communication skills.
· A keen eye for detail and a passion for delivering unforgettable experiences.
· Ability to multitask and stay calm under pressure.
· A little bit of a creative spark, and a love for all things hospo, fun, and community.
· Flexibility to work nights and weekends as required.
· A background in business, hospitality, events, or marketing (or currently completing a relevant degree).
· A solid understanding of the hospitality industry.
· Marketing skills are a big plus!
