The Opportunity
We have an exciting opportunity for a forward-thinking and detail-oriented professional to support the effective operation of Council’s governance function. In this role, you will lead the review and maintenance of Council policies and procedures, manage delegation and statutory registers, and coordinate annual governance and compliance reporting.
You will also play a key role in supporting privacy complaint investigations and breach notifications, managing information access requests, and providing governance advice and administrative support for corporate reporting and complaint resolution.
As a Governance Officer, your responsibilities will include:
- Maintaining and updating Council’s Policy and Procedure Register, including administering review processes.
- Managing and updating the Delegations Register and ensuring legislative compliance by tracking changes and notifying responsible officers.
- Reviewing and recommending updates to Council’s Privacy Management Plan.
- Assisting in the investigation of privacy complaints in accordance with legislative requirements.
- Coordinating and issuing notifications of privacy breaches to affected individuals and relevant authorities.

About You
We are seeking an individual who holds a Certificate IV in Business Administration or related field and has a current NSW Class C Drivers Licence.
You will have the following skills and experience;
- Experience, understanding and the ability to interpret legislation.
- High level of written and verbal communication skills including the ability to liaise effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
- High level of competence in the use of Microsoft applications and administration of an Electronic Document and Record Management System (i.e. HPE Content Manager or TRIM).
Benefits
This is a permanent full time position working 35 hours per week.
The total remuneration package for this position commences at $95,481.63 gross per annum, comprising of:
- $1,639.45 per week base salary
- $196.73 per week superannuation (calculated at 12%)
