As the Principal Governance and Board Officer, you will have the opportunity to support the effective operation of the EDQ Board through the adoption of policies and procedures and providing advice and implementing good governance practices.
Key responsibilities include but not limited to:
- Lead the delivery of high-quality, confidential administrative and secretariat services for the Economic Development Board and its Committees.
- Provide sound advice and implement good governance practices, including clear accountabilities and decision-making frameworks, related to the functions of the Board and relevant legislative requirements.
- Oversee the development and ongoing management of Board-related charters, register, policies, processes and procedures, adhering to any applicable legislation, regulations, and delegations.
- Work closely with the Chair and CEO on the development of agendas, coordination of papers and timely circulation of meeting packs.
Our ideal candidate will be someone who can demonstrate the following:
- Experience in a similar role
- Extensive knowledge and experience in leading and managing the development and implementation of good governance practices, board structures and processes
- Strong oral and written communication skills with the ability to communicate with influence whilst maintaining confidentiality
- Highly developed analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Ability to think strategically and plan ahead
- While not mandatory, possession of relevant governance qualifications would be well regarded.
