The opportunity
Are you passionate about your community? An exciting and rare opportunity exists, with this critical, but fulfilling role working as Federation Council’s Grants Officer. In this rewarding role you will have continual support and training from your manager, enjoy being a part of a team and working across multiple Council directorates. The position combines a wide variety of activities, including research, writing compelling grant applications, identifying community projects eligible for grants, developing key stakeholder relationships, securing funding for community by identifying, applying for, and managing grants. In this role you will:
- Work effectively in a team-based environment.

- Build relationships with key stakeholders, statutory authorities and community groups.
- Attend local and regional professional network meetings, trainings and conferences.
Essential key criteria to be addressed in applications
- Hold a minimum Certificate III in Business Administration or related discipline with Extensive experience in similar role as a successful Grants Officer and the key responsibilities of the position.
- Hold a current and valid class "C" driver's licence.
- Demonstrated understanding of cost benefits analysis, value for money, project management and other details as required within well-structured and supported grant applications.
- Proven exceptional writing and communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to manage time, set priorities as well as plan and organise one's own work to achieve set objectives in the most efficient way possible within the available resources and timeframes.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and a proven history of applying analytical skills in order to solve problems, improve methods and productivity.
- Demonstrated ability to meet the capability requirements of this position as defined in the capability statement.
Desirable
- Administration/Local Government experience, public relations.
- Experience using Civica Authority or similar finance systems.
- An understanding of the core functions of a Local Council.

The appointment will be in accordance with the Local Government (State) Award and Council’s policies and conditions of employment. The salary is commencing at $1405.60 per week with progression up to $1551.40 per week dependent upon skills and experience.
