About the role
The Head of Business Operations (Company Secretary) will be a key member of the Tennis Victoria (TV) executive leadership team and will be responsible for ensuring that the organisation is operating to the highest levels of compliance and in accordance with all relevant TV and Tennis Australia (TA) policies and procedures. The role will be required to lead on Governance (including Company Secretary duties) Integrity, Finance and Risk for TV.
In this role you will be responsible for:
  • Providing expertise and advice on all critical business support functions that enable the Board, sub-committees and staff to function effectively and efficiently.
  • Overseeing and delivering the preparation of relevant papers and minutes for all Board and sub-committee meetings including the Audit & Risk Committee (ARC), Nominations Committee, AGM and any special general meetings.
  • The reviewing of By Laws, constitutional changes / fulfilling requirements, plus continuous reviewing and maintenance of the Risk Register and risk framework.
  • Overseeing and supporting the finance and integrity functions of TV and ensuring sound financial management
  • Embedding a culture of child safeguarding whilst influencing and educating key stakeholders.
  • Overseeing the Business Optimisation & Data Lead to successfully review all internal systems, processes and reporting, establishing more automated and systemised reporting of the TV Strategy and other internal objectives.
  • Influencing and contributing directly to the organisations culture and bringing TV’s values to life; striving to positively show the values daily and associated behaviours.

About you
To be successful in this role you will have:
  • A qualification in Law/Governance, Business Management, Human Resources or other relevant field
  • Previous experience in a role with a strong focus on policy, governance, integrity, finance, risk and compliance.
  • Strong financial acumen and experience in managing budgets.
  • Experience in effective stakeholder management and communications.
  • A love of sport and a strong desire to contribute significantly to the growth of tennis.
  • A current Police Check and Working with Children Check (or be willing to obtain)
  • Preparedness to be flexible in regard to working hours and arrangements relating to work associated with Tennis VIC.
