Help us reimagine how a modern legal function operates at a global scale.
WiseTech Global builds software that powers the world’s supply chains. Our Legal team partners with every part of the business, and we’re now looking for a Head of Legal Operations to take our capability, efficiency and impact to the next level. This role will lead the function and embed the systems, processes and insights that enable a world‑class in‑house legal practice.
The opportunity
You’ll be the operational heartbeat of WiseTech Global’s legal team - designing and deploying smarter ways of working, unlocking data to inform decisions, and ensuring our people and partners are set up to deliver high‑quality legal services at speed and scale.
What you’ll do
- Lead the Legal Operations function and champion a culture of innovation, continuous improvement and “finding a better way”.
- Design and implement matter management practices and tooling that improve visibility, resilience, data capture and reporting for smarter, faster decision making.
- Optimise external legal resources - capture and analyse data, establish KPIs, drive value, and support performance management.
- Standardise and streamline workflows through process design, automation and deployment of technology (in close partnership with Information Systems team).
- Build legal analytics and reporting - a consistent approach to data collection, dashboards and insights that align resources to priorities and outcomes.
- Advance knowledge management - work with our internal eLearning team (WiseTech Academy) to harvest, refine and share legal knowledge to uplift consistency and capability across Legal and the broader business.
- Enhance document management practices and tools in collaboration with relevant functions to improve quality, retrieval and compliance.
- Own the legal ops plan and roadmap - create and execute a business plan aligned to the WisTech Global’s Legal Strategy, including regular reporting.
- Run core practice management (budgeting, resourcing, change and risk considerations) and provide timely, data‑led advice to Legal leadership.
What you’ll bring
- Relevant tertiary qualification and proven legal operations experience in‑house or within a complex, fast‑paced environment.
- Strategic problem solver with strong analytical capability; you turn data into operational improvements and business outcomes.
- Hands‑on familiarity with legal tech (e.g., matter management, document management, workflow automation, dashboards) and the curiosity to explore AI responsibly in legal service delivery.
- Senior stakeholder partnering skills - credible, trusted, and effective at all levels.
- Change leadership experience: designing, implementing and embedding new processes and tools across diverse teams.
- People leadership with the ability to build high‑functioning teams and positively influence.
- Excellent communication, organisation and time management; resilient and adaptable with competing priorities.
