HR and Payroll Officer- Fixed Term/Full Time
The VCAA is a statutory body responsible to the Victorian Minister for Education, serving both government and non-government schools. We provide high quality curriculum, assessment and reporting for all Victorian students birth to 18 years.
An exciting opportunity exists to join the in the VCE Curriculum Unit for a fixed term full-time position.
- Salary: $ $79,122 - $ 96,073 (Plus Superannuation of 12%)
- Fixed term till 31 December 2025
- Usual hours of work: Full time (flexible work conditions may be available)
- Usual work location: East Melbourne
Role purpose
The HR and Payroll Officer supports accurate and timely recruitment and payroll processing. The incumbent offers guidance on policy adherence and resolves complex payroll issues. Through cross-functional collaboration, they support the delivery of high-quality HR and payroll solutions and services.
The purpose of this role is to provide a range of HR and payroll services, including:
- Preparing, processing, reconciling and reporting payroll to ensure accurate and timely fortnightly/ salary payments to VCAA sessional/casual employees and to meet other reporting requirements
- Provide technical advice and/or support
- Provide advice on the appropriate interpretation of HR policy and or HR processes relating to Payroll, recruitment and staffing in the VCAA setting
- Provide administrative advice and support on a range of recruitment initiatives
- Work with relational databases, including creating customised stand-alone excel and access databases, extraction and manipulation of data
- Assist in the provision of a financial reporting, reconciliations, procurement and invoicing
- Financial related work as directed by the HR Manager.
The role will report to the Assistant Manager and Manager of the Unit.
