The Role
Are you passionate about designing secure, scalable, and cost-effective infrastructure solutions? We’re looking for an Infrastructure Solution Designer to join our team and play a key role in shaping Toll’s hybrid technology environment. This includes on-premise data centres, branch networks, cloud platforms (Azure, AWS), and private cloud.
In this role, you’ll support a range of business initiatives—from SDWAN-enabled office and warehouse setups to B2B customer onboarding and infrastructure modernisation. You’ll work closely with both business and technology stakeholders to capture requirements, craft fit-for-purpose designs, and guide delivery teams through implementation. The scope spans networking, compute, storage, cloud, security, and virtualisation, all within Toll’s established governance frameworks.
As the Infrastructure Solution Designer, you will:
- Design comprehensive infrastructure solutions covering networking, compute, storage, cloud, and security, supported by detailed documentation and costed implementation plans.
- Develop hybrid and cloud-native infrastructure strategies across Azure, AWS, and on-premise environments, ensuring compliance, security, and consistent identity and connectivity.
- Create and support secure B2B customer integrations and onboarding processes that align with Toll’s architecture and security standards.
- Lead modernisation initiatives including SDWAN and wireless network designs, infrastructure automation, and asset lifecycle management, while mentoring technical teams.
- Ensure all solution designs adhere to Toll’s infrastructure and security frameworks, contributing to governance through Architecture Review Boards.
- Maintain high-quality documentation including runbooks and design artefacts to support architecture governance and operational clarity.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- Extensive experience in infrastructure solution design and delivery engineering, with strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
- Extensive hands-on expertise in Cisco networking (including SDWAN), LAN/WAN, wireless, and ACI fabric technologies.
- Proficient in hybrid infrastructure environments, including Azure, AWS, Windows/Linux, VMware/Hyper-V, and SAN/NAS storage platforms.
- In-depth knowledge of security tools such as Cisco and Checkpoint firewalls, Zscaler, Symantec Cloud Proxy, VPNs, and Active Directory/Azure AD.
- Familiar with cloud networking solutions including AVS, Azure ExpressRoute, and Megaport, as well as infrastructure-as-code tools like Terraform and Ansible.
- Holds a degree in IT, Computer Science, or a related field, with certifications in Cisco (CCNP+), Azure/AWS architecture, or VMware; a Master’s degree is highly regarded.
