Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and motivate a team of athletes, creating an environment that encourages excellence and teamwork.
  • Design and deliver comprehensive training sessions that improve both technical skills and performance.
  • Provide continuous feedback and support to players, empowering them to reach their full potential.
  • Work closely with management and fellow coaches to align training strategies with broader team objectives.

About The Role

The Junior Head Coach is responsible for leading swimming training sessions, implementing effective development programs, and cultivating a strong, unified team spirit.

The ideal candidate will possess a passion for swimming coaching, a deep understanding of the sport, and the ability to inspire and engage athletes. This role requires excellent communication skills and a genuine dedication to athlete development.

About You

We’re seeking a passionate, skilled coach with the drive to help athletes grow and succeed as part of a high-performing team.

  • Proven swimming coaching experience, ideally at a competitive level.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills.
  • Ability to design and execute impactful training programs.
  • In-depth knowledge of the sport’s technical and tactical elements.

The successful candidate must hold:

  • A current, valid Working with Children Check.
  • CPR and First Aid certifications.
  • Teacher of Competitive Swimming / Towards Competitive Strokes certification.
  • ‘SCTA’ (Swim Coaches & Teachers Australia) Development Accreditation (formerly Bronze) or higher OR must be willing to obtain within the first six months of employment.

  • Package: $64,804 - $72,579 gross p.a. plus 12% superannuation.
  • Hours of work: Temporary Full-Time, 38 hours per week with option of 19-day month with flexi time arrangement. Applicants must be willing to work hours across a 7 day a week spread (Monday-Sunday). This temporary opportunity is expected to be available for 24 months.
