About the role:
Are you passionate about supporting families and creating safe, nurturing environments for children? We’re looking for a compassionate and dedicated Kinship Placement Support Worker to join our team in Rockhampton. You'll play a vital role in supporting Kinship carers and work closely with commuity partners to ensure every child has the opportunity to thrive.
What will a typical day look like?
- Support Kinship Carers to help children thrive at home and in the community.
- Build strong partnerships with carers, families, and key stakeholders.
- Identify and support training needs to empower carers and meet children’s needs.
- Observe, assess, and contribute to care planning for children and carers.
- Be part of an on-call roster, offering timely support when it’s needed most.
- Lead carer inductions and develop tailored support plans for stable placements.
- Gather and manage placement information to ensure informed, quality care.
- Boost carer confidence in understanding and supporting therapeutic needs.
- Help plan fun and meaningful events for children and carers.
- Manage carer renewals, ensuring all standards and approvals are up to date.
Mandatory Requirements:
- A bachelor’s degree in social or behavioural sciences, social work, or psychology.

- Ability to obtain a Blue Card (working with children check positive notice or exemption)
- Ability to obtain a Yellow Card (disability services positive notice or exemption notice)
