About the role:

Are you passionate about making a real difference in young lives? We're looking for a dedicated Intensive Placement Support Worker to support children and young people in our Intensive Foster Care Program based in Gladstone. These young people often face complex and high-level needs, and your role will be vital in helping them thrive.

You'll work closely with a committed care team to deliver tailored therapeutic support, help develop behaviour management strategies, and empower Carers with the tools they need to provide consistent, trauma-informed care.

What will a typical day look like?

  • Support foster carers and children through personalised guidance, training, and community engagement.

  • Collaborate with care teams and stakeholders to ensure stable, therapeutic placements.

  • Assess and respond to the needs of children, young people, and carers using observation and evaluation skills.

  • Participate in carer inductions, development planning, and a shared on-call support roster.

  • Maintain high standards in documentation, compliance, and up-to-date knowledge of care practices and legislation.

Mandatory Requirements:

  • A bachelor's degree in social or behavioural sciences, social work or psychology.
  • 3 years relevant experience

  • Full COVID-19 Vaccination
  • Ability to obtain a Blue Card (working with children check positive notice or exemption)
  • Ability to obtain a Yellow Card (disability services positive notice or exemption notice)
