Kitchen Assistant – Childcare Centre
Location: Bowral Street Childcare, Bowral NSW 2576
Position: Part-Time – Monday to Friday – 4 hours per day
Start Date: ASAP
We are seeking a reliable and friendly Kitchen Assistant to join our childcare team! This role focuses on heating and serving pre-prepared meals, maintaining a clean kitchen environment, and supporting the well-being of children through safe food handling practices.
Key Responsibilities:
* Heat and serve pre-prepared meals and snacks
* Ensure correct portion sizes for age groups and dietary needs
* Set up and clean food serving areas
* Wash dishes and maintain a clean, hygienic kitchen
* Assist with receiving and storing food deliveries
* Follow all food safety, hygiene, and allergy management protocols
About You
We’re looking for someone who is:
✔ Reliable, punctual, and well-organised
✔ Comfortable working in a busy childcare environment
✔ Able to follow directions and hygiene procedures
✔ Kind and respectful in interactions with children and educators
Requirements:
* Basic Food Handling Certificate (or willingness to obtain)
* Food Safety Supervisor Certificate (or willingness to obtain)
* Working With Children Check (WWCC)
* Awareness of food allergies and safety (training provided)
