About the Roles
BHP Olympic Dam currently has opportunities for two Reliability Leads to join the Surface Maintenance Front End Reliability team in both Strategy and Improvement.
These roles are highly aligned to those with outstanding communication skills together with previous leadership and technical reliability background.
These roles are based in Adelaide on a Monday-Friday hybrid basis. Regular travel to site is required.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Leading and managing a small team of reliability engineers and specialists to provide technical support to maintenance teams and conduct problem-solving activities to eliminate equipment defects across Olympic Dam’s Concentrator, Hydromet, Water, and supporting electrical infrastructure.
- Exercise a proficient level of technical knowledge and expertise to independently make informed decisions and provide engineering support to execution.
- Regularly measuring operational results against defined benchmarks and analyses business metrics to determine and monitor when contingency plans should be implemented.
- Conduct thorough problem-solving and/or investigations into plant performance issues and implement sustainable solutions to mitigate risk. Conduct peer reviews and coaching of problem-solving activities to ensure consistency in quality and outcome.
- Sourcing information, plans and conducts analyses to support evidence-based decision making to maximise reliability of plant.
- Coaching and developing team members’ technical skills to support business requirements whilst managing capacity and demand.
- Understanding and applying the relevant requirements and standards relating to the management and treatment of risk.
- Fostering effective and productive working relationships across all internal and external stakeholders.
- Driving a continuous improvement mindset by actively identifying, developing, and delivering improvement opportunities and initiatives to eliminate waste.
- Managing stakeholder needs and expectations.
About You
- Degree qualification in Mechanical, Electrical or Mechatronic Engineering or equivalent.
- Demonstrated background in Reliability engineering with a focus on providing maintenance support and delivering continuous improvement initiatives.
- Previous experience leading teams and direct reports.
- Strong problem-solving skills with a collaborative approach to finding practical solutions.
- Highly engaged, collaborative, and committed to building mutually beneficial relationships across functional teams.
- Have strong operating discipline and organisational skills with the ability to effectively prioritise tasks and work both independently and as part of a team.
- Experience in BHP systems, including SAP, work management and the BHP Operating System, will be an advantage.
- Strong communication skills.
