Literacy Leader (POL)

Role Description/Criteria

St Carlo Borromeo Catholic School is committed to the safety, wellbeing and protection of children in our care. We aim to provide an inclusive environment which develops children intellectually, physically, socially and spiritually leading them to a love of learning.

This is a full time, ongoing position commencing Term 4, 2025 or Term 1, 2026. (A Part time position may be considered for the successful applicant, if requested.)

Applicants will possess the skills and abilities to promote high expectations for all, embrace a collaborative approach to learning and teaching, and demonstrate a commitment to the ongoing development of our learning community.

Special Requirements

The successful applicant will:

• Demonstrate commitment to Catholic education and to the safety and wellbeing of children.
• In collaboration with another Literacy Leader, plan literacy professional learning in line with MACS Vision for Instruction.
• Facilitate planning to empower teachers to develop literacy instruction that aligns with the Science of Learning.
• Additional qualifications in this field (or currently completing qualifications).
• Build positive relationships and assist in creating learning environments where all are valued, engaged and challenged.
• Demonstrate effective communication and organisational skills and have the ability to plan collaboratively, be flexible, proactive and resourceful.
• Develop and maintain professional and caring relationships with students, parents and colleagues.
• Have or be working towards accreditation to teach in a Catholic school.
• Hold Victorian Institute of Teaching Registration.
