What does a Logistics Account Lead do?
The Logistics Account Lead role is responsible for seeing that the overall contracted scope of work and deliverables are fulfilled for the customer. The focus is on business fulfillment, client relations, and the achievement of long-term account goals and objectives. This position works closely with the customer. The Account Leader works with the Allyn logistics team management in the United States and local team leaders to ensure that standard processes and relevant metrics are in place and are used to improve customer service, reduce or contain transport costs, and increase the productivity of the department. The Logistics Account Leader has primary responsibility for prompt issue resolution while working face to face with the customer. They will also manage improvement projects and other initiatives on behalf of the account.

Location: Adelaide, AUS
Work Schedule: 38 hours, 8 AM-4 PM, Monday-Friday (some weekend / after-hours support may be required)
Position Classification: Full-Time; Salaried Exempt
Compensation: Measured based on Experience

Requirements & Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college in business, supply chain, economics, management information systems, computer information systems, or similar discipline
- 2+ years of experience in supply chain management, logistics, or transportation
- International logistics experience +5 years is a must; transportation, customs, warehousing, supply chain principles, geographical concerns, political nuances of economic zones

- Work with local team leaders to coordinate, and oversee, and participate in day-to-day logistics operations and service:
- Route cargo in compliance with legal, regulatory, and customer requirements
- Coordinate shipment routing, carrier selection, and documentation
- Use and maintain Transportation Management Systems (TMS) and other client systems
- Track and trace shipments, update records, and proactively manage delays
- Ensure compliance with DOT, Hazmat, over-dimensional permitting, and international shipping regulations
- Issue accurate shipping documents (e.g., invoices, packing lists, certificates)
- Monitor and ensure data integrity and quality in logistics systems
- Capture and document all costs, including freight, detention, demurrage, and accessorials
- Serve as primary point of contact for clients regarding account level items, ensuring satisfaction and long-term relationship building
- Manage client escalations and provide prompt issue resolution
- Travel to client sites for reviews, meetings, and support
- Lead account management level client presentations and regular meetings
- Train and support internal team members and external users (clients, suppliers)
- Run, analyze, and present standard and ad hoc reports
- Monitor team tracking performance and operational KPIs
- Analyze findings to identify efficiency opportunities or cost savings
- Support proposal generation and contract renewals
- Identify and implement new service offerings or technology enhancements
- Support marketing campaigns and contribute to articles and publications
- Lead client value add engagements from scope definition to close-out
- Analyze supply chain and logistics operations for optimization or cost-takeout
- Provide recommendations based on qualitative and quantitative analysis
- Develop tools, methods, and solutions tailored to client goals
- Suggest and manage technical/process enhancements
- Lead special projects and IT-related initiatives
- Supervise employee timesheets, time off, and performance reviews
- Coach team managers and ensure employee growth and engagement
- Manage staffing levels and organizational structure
- Enforce policy compliance and handle disciplinary actions
