THE OPPORTUNITY:
The Concentrate Logistics Officer is a key member of our operations team, primarily responsible for assisting the Concentrate Logistics Superintendent with activities relating to the Concentrate Logistics supply chain. This role involves a variety of tasks including inventory management, transportation, storage of product and sampling.
This is a permanent full-time position that operates on a FIFO 8:6 roster from Perth or DIDO from Port Hedland.
Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Perform the assigned sampling of stockpiles, including preparation of samples using metallurgical laboratory equipment.
- Quality control and reporting of all routine sampling and other relevant data to ensure accurate data is maintained and reported in a timely manner.
- Perform metallurgical accounting and reconciliation of concentrate.
- Support the Concentrate Logistics Superintendent where necessary, including identifying efficiency improvements throughout the concentrate logistics value chain.
- Physically inspect and ensure the quality of bulk product prior to dispatch.
- Operate forklifts in a safe and controlled manner to load trucks with bulk product.
- Comply with all safety procedures and ensure adherence to company policies and regulations to maintain a safe working environment.
- Developing daily haulage plans and weekly forecast to meet the upcoming shipping schedule.
- Identifying and implementing efficiency improvements throughout the concentrate logistics value chain.
- Tracking, monitoring and reporting on variables and shortfalls to mitigate risk in meeting shipping schedules.
- Ensuring product grade and moisture content is to the client specification and available to meet shipping schedules.
- Contribute to incident investigations and reporting in relation to site logistics.
- Coordinate the activities of the site logistics contractors.
- Occasional after-hours contact in the event of issues related to haulage or ship loading.
ABOUT YOU:
- Current C class driver’s license.
- Forklift licence
- Previous logistics experience
- Attention to detail
- Commitment to safety
- Proficient in Microsoft Office
- Physical fitness to meet the demands of physical work.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- A team player and willing to work autonomously
- Flexible approach and attitude
- Pass pre-employment medical and DAS testing
