The Opportunity
Sunnybank Green Retirement Village is a tranquil community, set on well-maintained tropical gardens, offering a peaceful retirement living lifestyle for our independent living residents. As our Maintenance Gardener, you will be responsible for the day-to-day upkeep of our gardens, grounds and fixtures around the retirement community. On a daily basis, you will attend to a wide variety of tasks, including minor domestic repairs around the village, preventative maintenance or cleaning tasks and ensuring our gardens are maintained. This role is perfect for someone who enjoys spending time outdoors, connecting with others and loves a small team.
This opportunity is a permanent full-time position working Monday to Friday 8-4pm
Your Impact:
- Attend to various maintenance requests around the village (basic domestic repair tasks)
- Carry out preventative tasks (e.g high-pressure cleaning, smoke alarm checks and bins etc.)
- Be responsible for the maintenance of all village gardens including weeding, mowing and hedging
- Use our mobile app to log, track and record the progress of jobs completed
- Help out around the village with additional tasks
- Be a friendly face to the residents and work alongside a fantastic team!
- Maintain effective working relationships with maintenance contractors
- $29.92/hour + superannuation + relevant award entitlements including penalty rates, overtime and allowances

- Skilled in domestic repair or gardening tasks (e.g using tools, painting, mowing etc.)
- A genuine interest in learning new skills, being outdoors and hands-on who will enjoy chatting with residents!
- A warm & caring personality with an interest to make a difference every day
- Valid driver's licence and two (2) COVID vaccinations (required)
- Current Police Check certificate (required, but if you do not have one, we can complete for you)
