Your New Role Looks Like This:
Are you passionate about risk management and ready to make an impact in a business-critical role? We’re looking for a Manager, Business Risk to join our Wealth & Capital Markets (W&CM) team on a 12-month fixed term contract.
This Line 1 role offers the opportunity to work closely with senior leaders, driving meaningful outcomes in operational compliance, risk management, and business resilience. You’ll play a pivotal role in strengthening our risk culture, enabling smarter business decisions, and ultimately delivering great outcomes for our customers.
Key Responsibilities Include:
- Provide oversight and management of day-to-day business risk operations, ensuring alignment with policies and delegations.
- Enhance and present recommendations to improve risk and compliance practices that directly support business objectives.
- Oversee reporting on compliance and uplift the quality of risk data and insights to support better decision-making.
- Manage and resolve incidents, including breach investigations, and embed lessons learned.
- Design and test key controls to ensure they’re effective and aligned with regulatory expectations.
- Support business continuity and resilience activities, including third-party oversight.
- Build strong relationships with W&CM leadership teams, helping them take ownership of risks, controls, and incidents.
- Partner with Risk & Compliance, Internal Audit, and other stakeholders across the three lines of accountability.
- Deliver engaging learning initiatives that build awareness of regulatory obligations across W&CM.
- Facilitate risk and control workshops to foster a proactive risk culture and drive process improvements.
- Lead targeted risk projects and support the shift towards a more agile operating model.
About You:
We’re seeking someone who can balance a hands-on, practical approach with the ability to influence and engage at all levels. You’ll bring:
- Strong experience in operational risk, compliance, or business assurance—ideally in financial services or wealth management, with at least 8 years working experience
- A sound understanding of risk and compliance frameworks, control testing, and regulatory requirements.
- Proven ability to manage incidents and embed continuous improvement practices.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the confidence to engage senior leaders.
- A collaborative mindset, with the ability to educate, influence, and drive change.
