About the role

We are looking for a passionate and action-oriented person to fill this pivotal role in a dynamic and fast moving team.
The work is varied, interesting, and can delve into any aspect of the cash management, banking and payments world and how it works in a large organisation, dealing with Health entities, Treasury, parts of the Ministry of Health other government organisations and our commercial partners.
As well, your knowledge of large ERP systems, covering HR/Payroll through payables, receivables, procurement and general ledger, how they are configured, how the business uses them, and what data we need to support our reporting systems is critical to the continued improvement and sustainability of NSW Health in the future.
The work includes involvement in many of the business and system improvement programs across Health, but also ensuring the liquidity of the organisation is strong and ready for whatever we face.
Crown Clerk 11/12, starting salary from $149,739 - $173,174 p.a. plus Super and annual leave loading, with a 35-hour work week, work location flexible with a - 1 Reserve Road, St Leonards base.

What you'll be doing
Working closely with and directly supporting the Director, Cash and Financial Systems Governance, you will be part of cash and funding management discussions, managing Health’s banking and payments structure, considering the accounting requirements for complex and new requirements and improvement of legacy processes.
This involves collaborating with:
- NSW Health entities – LHDs, shared service providers and pillars
- Branches of the Ministry of Health
- NSW Treasury, Revenue NSW, Department of Customer Service and other NSW Government entities
You will spend time with our eHealth and HealthShare colleagues and be involved with deciding and managing how we design and use our systems and processes and how we manage our financial data needs in line with management decision making requirements.
About you
We are seeking motivated and committed individuals who can support the work of NSW Health with:
- Passion and capability to deep dive into complex problems and solve them considering the broader picture and with positive outcomes for all;
- Practical and thorough understanding of the NSW Health system, particularly in relation to financial management, finance systems, accounting and funding requirements for the Ministry of Health and its controlled entities.
- Demonstrated understanding of applicable Australian Accounting Standards, legislative provisions and regulations and statutory and central agency requirements.
- Demonstrated knowledge and experience in managing the financial reporting processes and cash flows of a large complex and diverse organisation.
- Tertiary qualifications at degree level in finance or a related discipline and full professional membership of a recognised accredited Australian professional accounting body.
- The ability to build and maintain effective relationships and communicate and negotiate with key stakeholders at all levels.
