The Department of Health plays a critical role in the Victorian health system and is responsible for shaping it to meet the health needs of all Victorians. We’re focused on
supporting Victorians to be as healthy as they can; whether through alerting them to seasonal risks like thunderstorm asthma, notifying them of contact with
communicable diseases, safeguarding their drinking water, developing the best health, wellbeing and care facilities in the world, being at the forefront of mental health and
wellbeing treatment or accelerating medical research. It’s all part of the way we partner with the community to help every individual lead a healthy life.
About the role:
The Manager, Digital Resources leads a small team to support the work of the Maternal and Child Health (MCH) program area, including to create a new suite of evidence-based and family-friendly digital resources to better support Victorian families and underpin the Victorian MCH Service.
The role will:
  • Manage the review, revision and transition of MCH printed resources into digital formats, including the creation within tight timeframes of a digital version of the My Health, Learning and Development “Green” Book provided to every new Victorian baby as a personal health record
  • Ensure that digital resources and content remain fit-for-purpose for use by the clinical MCH workforce and Victorian parents, carers and families
  • Create and manage a central repository of approved MCH and parenting digital resources, and ensure strategic alignment with existing national and Victorian parenting websites with evidence-based resources.
  • Contribute to high priority interdepartmental initiatives to improve access to effective and user friendly digital tools and information to better support Victorian families in the early years.
The role requires excellent project management and communication skills, and the ability to build collaborative relationships with internal and external stakeholders, staff and executives, with a focus on delivering tangible outcomes in tight timelines.
About us:
At the Victorian Department of Health we want a future where Victorians are the healthiest people in the world. A Victoria where our children and people thrive, our workplaces are productive and safe, and our communities are more connected.

  • Utilises best-practice project management techniques, including in relation to project reporting, stakeholder engagement, and risks and issues management.
  • Manages a team in the delivery of projects, including clinical input from MCH nurses, and other work as directed.
  • Provides guidance and support to team members in accordance with departmental values.
  • Gathers and consolidates expert and authoritive advice and input into the revision and development of user-friendly parent-facing resources.
  • Develops briefs on highly complex issues that provide options for decision within an organisation.
  • Initiates and manages negotiations with peers (internal and external to work unit) to gain commitment to projects, and delivery of activities to meet timelines.
  • Represents own work area with external stakeholders, and effectively manages feedback.
