We are now seeking a proactive and experienced Manager, Financial Planning, Analysis and Reporting to join our high-performing Group Finance team. In this pivotal role, you will lead the delivery of consolidated board-level financial reporting, budgeting and forecasting and provide expert advice that drives informed strategic decision making at the highest levels.
About the role
Reporting directly to the Head of Group Financial Planning and Analysis you will:
Lead the development, consolidation and delivery of high-quality financial management reports, board papers and executive presentations.
Provide specialist advice on long-term strategic planning, budgets, forecasts, and financial modelling and analysis.
Champion improvements to financial planning, analysis and reporting processes, ensuring quality, efficiency and alignment with the University’s strategic financial objectives.
Influence, collaborate with and build trusted relationships with finance colleagues and executive stakeholders.
Manage projects that enable data-driven insights and reporting enhancements working collaboratively with stakeholders to ensure project milestones and timelines are achieved.
Provide expert knowledge to Group Finance in business cases, financial modelling and evaluation, and cost-benefit analysis ensuring benefit commitments are included in future forecasts, budgets and long-term plans
Lead and coach a small high-performing team, fostering a culture of service excellence and continuous improvement.
About you
You are a strategic finance professional with the following skills, knowledge and experience (selection criteria):
Extensive experience delivering complex board-level reporting in a large, multi-faceted organisation.
Strong ability to influence, collaborate and develop credible partnerships with senior executive stakeholders.
A proactive, inquisitive mindset – you enjoy solving problems, improving processes and turning data into meaningful insights.
Outstanding attention to detail, coupled with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Proven capability to juggle multiple time-sensitive priorities in a dynamic environment.
A relevant degree in accounting or finance and CA/CPA qualifications (required).
Advanced Excel, PowerPoint and financial modelling skills; experience with ERP and reporting systems such as FinanceOne, TM1, Calumo or Power BI is highly regarded.

The Financial Planning and Analysis team owns the budgeting and forecasting process and works closely with Finance Business Partners to deliver actionable insights across Macquarie University’s diverse operations.
