Overview
The Manager, Risk & Compliance supports the implementation and ongoing enhancement of the First Line Risk Management function across the ANZ business. This role contributes to fostering a strong risk culture, ensuring operational resilience, and supporting compliance with internal policies and regulatory requirements. You will work closely with business units to identify, assess, and manage operational risks, and assist in embedding effective governance and control practices.Key Accountabilities and main responsibilities Strategic Focus
- Support the delivery of the Line 1 Risk strategy, ensuring alignment with enterprise risk appetite, business objectives, and regulatory expectations.
- Champion a "risk is everyone’s responsibility" mindset across all levels of the organisation.
- Support the execution of Line 1 Risk activities including risk assessments, control testing, incident management, and monitoring of key risk indicators.
- Assist in identifying and escalating emerging risks and control issues.
- Maintain accurate records of risk events, mitigation actions, and control effectiveness.
- Contribute to the preparation of risk reports and insights for internal stakeholders.
- Collaborate with business units to promote a proactive risk culture.
- Liaise with Line 2 Risk & Compliance and other assurance functions to ensure alignment.
- Provide risk and compliance guidance to operational teams.
- Contribute to the enhancement of risk processes and tools, including GRC systems.
- Identify opportunities for process improvement and efficiency in risk management practices.
- Ensure adherence to internal risk frameworks, policies, and regulatory obligations.
- Support internal and external audits, regulatory reviews, and risk assurance activities.
- Monitor the status of audit and risk issues and assist in driving timely resolution.
Experience & Personal Attributes
- 5+ years’ experience in operational risk, compliance, or audit within financial services or a regulated industry.
- Working knowledge of risk management frameworks and regulatory requirements.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Effective communication and stakeholder engagement abilities.
- Experience with risk systems and reporting tools is desirable.
