About the opportunity
As a Market Intelligence Officer within the Intelligence & Insights team at Sydney Future Students , you will play a key role in researching, analysing, and interpreting market intelligence to support domestic and international student recruitment across undergraduate and postgraduate levels.
You’ll collaborate closely with the Market Intelligence Specialist to deliver high-quality insights through both primary and secondary research. Your work will inform strategic and operational recruitment decisions and enhance our understanding of student behaviour, market trends, and competitive positioning.
You will provide project management support and services to ensure efficient coordination, maximised productivity and that client needs are met on time.
Your key responsibilities will be to:
- conduct and project manage quantitative and qualitative research , including surveys, recruitment, focus groups, interviews, and mystery shopping.
- perform desk research and monitor higher education reports to identify emerging trends.
- analyse and interpret primary and secondary data to produce clear, actionable reports and presentations .
- share insights with internal stakeholders to support recruitment strategies, decision-making and enhanced understanding of student channels.
About you

- a solid understanding of sales and marketing principles , student recruitment, consumer behaviour, and the higher education landscape.
- proven experience in conducting and project managing market research , including both primary and secondary, qualitative and quantitative methodologies.
- strong communication skills, with the ability to present complex information clearly and effectively.
- analytical proficiency using tools such as Excel, SPSS, DisplayR, Qualtrics, Alteryx, M, or Python .
- a proactive mindset with strong problem-solving skills and the ability to apply sound judgment.
