Job Description – Support Worker (Creative Arts & Mental Health)
Location 1: Mornington
- Shift: Once weekly (4 hours)
- Requirements:
- Strong interest in art and painting (hobby or professional).
- Experience in supporting individuals with mental health needs.
- Minimum Certificate in Mental Health, Community Services, or equivalent.
- Role Overview:
- Support participant in Mornington with a creative, person-centred approach. This includes engaging in painting and artistic activities, providing companionship, and supporting wellbeing during the session.
Location 2: Frankston
- Shift: Twice weekly – Tuesdays & Thursdays (10am–1pm)
- Requirements:
- Background or demonstrated interest in arts and crafts.
- Experience in supporting people with mental health conditions.
- Relevant qualifications (Certificate in Mental Health/Community Services or equivalent).
- Role Overview:
- Work alongside participant in Frankston to provide meaningful engagement through art and craft activities, while also offering general emotional support and assistance with mental health goals.

About the Role
We are looking for enthusiastic and reliable Support Workers with a passion for art, painting, and creative expression to join our team at #HUMAN Recovery Services. These roles involve supporting participants with mental health needs by joining them in art activities, offering encouragement, building confidence, and providing companionship in a safe and supportive environment. What You’ll Be Doing
- Providing social and emotional support with a person-centred focus.
- Encouraging skill development, independence, and creative expression.
- Assisting with mental health support goals as outlined in care plans.
- Ensuring a safe, inclusive, and supportive space for participants.
What We’re Looking For
- Genuine interest in art/painting (hobbyists welcome!).
- Experience supporting people with mental health conditions.
- Minimum Certificate in Mental Health, Community Services, or related field.
- Strong communication, empathy, and reliability.
- Current NDIS Worker Screening Check and relevant clearances.
- Valid driver’s licence and reliable transport.
