Isaac Regional Council is seeking a skilled Mobile Mechanical Fitter to join our Fleet Department. Reporting to the Coordinator Plant & Workshops, you’ll play a vital role in maintaining and servicing Council’s diverse fleet of vehicles, plant, and equipment — both in the workshop and out in the field.
This is your chance to contribute to the strategic asset management of a regional council that values safety, innovation, and community service.
To be successful in this position, you will have:
- Trade qualification in Heavy Commercial Vehicle Mechanical Technology
- Experience in auto electrical repairs and field diagnostics
- Blue/White Card
- Current C Class Open Australian Driver’s Licence
- Ability to pass a pre-employment functional assessment
- Strong mechanical experience across light/heavy vehicles and heavy plant
- Welding and fabrication skills (highly regarded)
- Sound understanding of Workplace Health & Safety
- Ability to work autonomously and within multidisciplinary teams
- Effective communication and organisational skills
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office suite
