About the Role
We’re looking for a passionate and experienced English teacher to join our international academic team and deliver our High School Preparation (HSP) program in Shanghai, China. This course is designed for students aged 13–18 who are preparing to transition into Australian secondary schools.
As this is an offshore teaching role, you’ll work independently on the ground in Shanghai while maintaining regular communication with our Melbourne-based academic office for ongoing support and quality assurance.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Teach academic English aligned with our curriculum, including reading, writing, speaking, listening, and other subjects
- Help students develop study skills and cultural understanding relevant to Australian schooling
- Assess student progress through classroom tasks, projects, and formal assessments
- Maintain accurate records of attendance, assessments, and student feedback
- Liaise regularly with the Melbourne academic team to ensure alignment and compliance
- Support student engagement and create a safe, positive learning environment
- Adapt lesson content as needed to suit student levels and local delivery context
What You’ll Need
- A bachelor’s degree in Education, TESOL, English, or a related field
- A TESOL/TEFL/CELTA qualification
- Minimum 2 years of teaching experience with teenagers or young learners
- Strong classroom management and student-centred teaching skills
- Excellent communication and organisational skills
- Ability to work independently and coordinate with an offshore head office
- Familiarity with Australian education expectations is a plus
- Australian teachers registration is a plus
- Valid work rights in China (or currently residing in Shanghai) - Optional

Job Type: Contract
Contract length: 5 months
Pay: $50.00 – $70.00 per hour
Expected hours: 25 per week
