About the Centre
After a $27.3 million redevelopment the Oak Park Sports and Aquatic Centre was completed in September 2018 and offers a state of art 24 hour gym and spinning studio as well as a multipurpose and group fitness room. The seasonal outdoor aquatic area comprises of a heated 50 metre pool, 20m learn to swim pool, two waterslides and a children’s waterplay pool with water features and slide.
The Centre is open all year round with the aquatic areas open from 1 October through to 30 April and all pools heated.
About The Role
As an Operations Coordinator at Oak Park Sports and Aquatic Centre, you will support with day-to-day operations. Overseeing the lifeguard team you will be responsible for the teams recruitment, training, scheduling and timesheet approvals.
You will confidently support plant room operations and contractor systems, ensuring adherence to aquatic safety protocols like GSPOs, as well as leading the Health & Safety Committee.
Responsibilities also include managing incident reporting, conducting operations audits. Additional duties include:
- Leadership of the operations/lifeguard team, including assisting the Senior Centre Coordinator in managing and developing the team.
- Complying with all incident reporting processes and supporting the management of escalations
- Completing end of month reporting & invoicing processes.
- Being a proactive member of the leadership team contributing ideas and resolutions to centre-wide issues.
This is a full-time fixed-term position with a hourly rate of $31.92 + Super & Y Benefits.
About You
- You will have hands on experience in aquatic facility operations.
- Your demonstrated communication and interpersonal skills enable you to inspire and engage our lifeguard team.
- You possess strong organisational and multitasking abilities, allowing you to effectively manage competing responsibilities and prioritise tasks.
- You will be committed to a regular work pattern, whilst also able to be flexible to support centre leadership during peak times.
Essential Qualifications
- HLTAID009 Provide Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation
- HLTAID011 Provide First Aid
- Aquatic Pool Lifeguard Certificate
Desirable Qualifications & Experience
- Experience performing pool lifeguard and duty manager duties
- SISSS00110 - Aquatic Technical Operator Skill Set
- Understanding of risk management & basic OHS systems
