OCEAN BLUE PAINTING SERVICES PTY LTD (ABN: 21 658 055 675) has been servicing the painting and decorating needs of the greater Perth and metro areas since 2016; the demand for our top-quality services has been ever growing and we are now looking for an experienced Painting Trades Worker to join our team for painting domestic and commercial buildings.
Position: Painting Trades Worker
Annual Salary: $70,000 - $75,000 a year

Job responsibilities
- Sanding and preparation of various surfaces (plaster, metal, wood, gypsum board)
- Patch walls and perform other prep tasks as necessary.
- Apply paint and other coatings to drywall and other surfaces.
- Mix paints to required colours
- lay and repair wall and floor tiles when required.
- Hang wallpaper when required
- Construct scaffolding and ladders and place drop sheets to prevent paint splatter
- Clean spray nozzles, brushes, and all other equipment at the end of the shift
- Work closely with clients to understand what they’re looking for while advising them on different colors, mediums, and other applicable options.
- Use a variety of tools to achieve the desired finish on painted surface.
- Perform final inspection to ensure quality and accuracy of work.
- Adhere to workplace safety rules and regulations.
- Manage budget, track expenditures, and negotiate prices.
Skills and Experience Required:
To be eligible for this role, the applicant must:
- have a minimum of 3 years painting experience
- have a thorough knowledge of paints and varnishes
- have a thorough knowledge of filler types, their application and preparation for painting
- be willing to work overtime as required
- be self-motivated
- possess a driving licence
What you will need:
- White card
- Painting and decorators' qualification or a minimum of 3years’ experience in the painting industry
- Reliable transport
- Working rights in australia
- Ability to lead and manage a team of 3-4 other painters (including tradesmen and apprentices)
Remuneration
$70,000 - $75,000 a year dependent on skills and experience. Remuneration will reflect current market conditions and industry award rates. To be discussed with the successful applicant.
The role is accountable to the company owner/director and may involve liaising with a range of internal and external personnel, including service providers, contractors and company clients.
