We are a busy GP clinic in the Canterbury area looking for a hard working and efficient receptionist to join our team. Our clinic has been caring for the community for over 18 years, and you will be working to support our clinical staff and give your patients the best possible outcomes. You will enjoy a varied role including:
- Medical administration – filing medical records, answering phones, processing client enquiries, checking in patients arriving for an appointment, scanning and accounts administration
- Computer proficiency – medical and appointment software, Word, Excel, Outlook. Maintenance of data integrity and up to date recall databases
- Superior time management skills and ability to work under pressure- ensuring patient flow and organising clinician schedules, supporting challenging patients and organising timely review of an emergency patient
- Attention to detail - Maintaining accurate records and confidentiality (patient and staff), cleaning work spaces, stock monitoring and ordering
- Ability to work within a team – honest, reliable and diligent - Liaising with in and out of house parties for optimising patient care
- Proactive attitude, solution focused, good rapport and trustworthy
We are looking for someone starting at 1-2 full days per week, with a possibility for more days. Entry level position in Canterbury- training can be provided to a right candidate. The position would have rotating duties to ensure a variety of administrative tasks are learned. This is an exciting role for an receptionist who wants a good work-life balance but also the rewarding opportunity to work in a busy general practice. Hours of operation 9-5 Mon to Fri, 9-12 Saturday.
You will have:
- Computer proficiency and ability to learn software programs used within this Practice – Medical Director and Pracsoft
- Experience in medical reception or willing to undertake training if new to field
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills;
- Knowledge and ability to communicate in a busy clinical setting and comfort working independently in a supervised environment
- Accuracy and ability to prioritise, organise and perform tasks efficiently;
- Commitment to ongoing training;
- Maintain patient and staff confidentiality at all times;
- Flexibility to meet the operating hours of the Practice – may be required to participate in rotating Saturday roster when trained
- Immunisations (including for Covid 19) up to date as per work health and safety recommendations
- Permanent residency or Australian citizenship required
