The Opportunity
As Program Manager, you will work closely with the Head of Child Health Analytics to lead the operational, financial, and strategic functions of a dynamic research team. You will oversee project governance, manage key partnerships, support grant applications and coordinate day-to-day operations to ensure the successful delivery of high-quality research.
Some of your duties include, but are not limited to:
- Lead program governance, finance, contracts, and risk management across diverse research streams.
- Manage collaboration with high-level global stakeholders, including WHO, BMGF, and other major funders.
- Support program operations, research compliance, and ethics applications.
- Champion inclusive leadership, staff development, and high-performing team culture.
- Oversee the MAP Advisory Board and contribute to Institute-wide initiatives.
Based in Nedlands, WA, this is a full-time position on a 2-year fixed-term contract with the possibility of extension. Part-time of 0.8 FTE will be considered for the right candidate.
About You
You are experienced and organised with a passion for supporting research that drives real-world impact. You have the ability to work across large, multidisciplinary teams with confidence and empathy, and your strong project and financial management skills ensure nothing gets missed.
To be successful in this role, you should have the following skills and experience:
- Proven experience in program or project management in a research or health environment.
- Excellent stakeholder management skills, with the ability to work across global collaborations.
- Strong leadership and people development capabilities.
- Exceptional communication and problem-solving skills.
- A self-starter with outstanding time management and organisational skills.
- Tertiary qualification in a relevant field (Master’s degree and/or PM certification desirable).
