About the Role
The Careers Department is seeking a passionate and reliable Program Support Officer to assist with the rollout of our digital careers education program across 12 remote schools in the Northern Territory and Western Australia.
This is an exciting opportunity for a student teacher, education student, or youth-focused professional to gain hands-on experience working with young people in regional communities. You’ll play a key role in delivering on-site engagement, supporting teachers and students, and helping make future career pathways more visible and exciting.
Key Responsibilities
- Travel with The Careers Department team to schools in the Darwin and Broome regions (late July).
- Support delivery of in-school sessions, including presenting platform features and assisting students with interactive tasks.
- Build rapport with students and teachers to encourage engagement and confidence in using the program.
- Troubleshoot basic tech or platform issues and provide hands-on guidance during sessions.
- Collect informal feedback from teachers and students during the pilot.
About You
- You’re confident working with young people and enjoy supporting students in a classroom environment.
- You have strong communication skills and are comfortable presenting or helping facilitate sessions.
- You’re culturally respectful, open-minded, and adaptable to different learning environments.
- You’re enthusiastic about education and passionate about improving student access to career education.
- You’re available for travel in late July (exact dates to be confirmed) and can commit to a short-term project.
Desirable (but not required)
- Currently studying Education, Youth Work, Psychology, or related fields.
- Experience working in schools or youth engagement programs.
- Familiarity with remote or regional education contexts.

Pay: $1,250.00 – $1,350.00 per week
