Why this Role?
The Project Officer reports to the Principal Project Officer, Global Engagement. The Global Engagement team within DEi leads a diverse range of initiatives that strengthen Queensland's global education agenda. This includes building international partnerships, coordinating inbound and outbound engagement, supporting sister school relationships, and delivering immersive experiences - both online and in person - for students, teachers, education leaders, and school communities.
Responsibilities include:
Build and maintain relationships with key clients, both internal and external to the department, including government officials, overseas institution staff, representatives, and students.
Prepare various executive correspondence, including reports, presentations, and information packages to support international education engagement.
Manage project implementation plans, resource estimates, time requirements, and completion dates.
Coordinate the planning, logistics, and delivery of events and engagements, including symposiums, prize ceremonies, and delegations to support global education priorities.
Develop and implement communication and marketing strategies to promote the team's initiatives, strengthen stakeholder engagement, and raise the profile of global education opportunities across Queensland schools.
Resolve issues and contribute to the development and implementation of policies, procedures, processes, and systems to improve departmental administration.
Ensure compliance with all relevant Commonwealth and State Acts regarding international student entry and program completion, as well as department-specific policies and guidelines.
