What this the role includes:
A race stable foreman is a key member of a racing stable, responsible for the daily management of the horses and staff, under the direction of the trainer. This role will involve the supervision of the care, feeding, and exercise of the horses, and manage the stable staff, ensuring all tasks are completed efficiently and safely. This role also plays a crucial role on race days, preparing horses for races and potentially attending races as a representative of the stable. The successful applicant must be able to be able to communicate both in English and Japanese.
What Japanoz Equestrian and racing stables are looking for:
· Experience and passion for the equine industry with the highest of standards to the commitment of animal welfare. Conducting routine health checks, identifying any signs of illness or injury, and implementing feeding and nutritional programs.
· Immaculate attention to detail and be able to communicate and provide updates / concerns with any of the horses both in house and work conducted externally.
· Experience with overseeing the feeding, grooming, and exercise of the horses, including walking, using walkers, or water walkers.
· Ensuring the stable environment is clean, organized, and safe, including the maintenance of equipment and facilities
· Managing and coordinating the work of stablehands, including training, performance management, and addressing any issues.
· Preparing horses for races, attending races as a representative of the stable, and assisting with post-race activities. Providing updates to the trainer, owners, and other relevant parties about the horses' progress and well-being.
· Ensuring all activities are carried out in accordance with racing rules and regulations, including safety protocols.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $53,000.00 – $55,000.00 per year
